Where You Will Work:
Located in Boulder, Colorado, University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) serves and participates in a collaborative community of researchers and educators who are dedicated to understanding the atmosphere -- the air around us -- and the complex processes that make up the Earth system, from the ocean floor to the Sun’s core. UCAR manages the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) on behalf of the National Science Foundation and the university community.
What You Will Do:
The Logistics Operations Clerk I position provides optimum customer service in all areas of Material Handling to include shipping and receiving activities.Responsibilities include:
Delivers USPS Mail, inter-office mail and packages. Adheres to strict deadlines and accuracy requirements. Solves problems by following clearly defined procedures.
Receives shipments, verifies and processes orders through database and confirms accuracy of order compliance.
Drives GSA vehicles as needed.
Special Conference Set-ups
Effectively handles heavy materials and equipment for extended periods of time. Moves heavy furniture for inter-office and intra-office relocations.
Special projects as assigned.
Additional duties may be assigned.
What You Need:
Education and Years of Experience:
- High School diploma and 1-2 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Shipping Experience-Domestic and International
Freight 1- 2 years’ experience, Forklift Experience- 1- 2 years’ experience
Basic skill in the use of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Excellent customer relation skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to adapt to changing workload and task assignments.
Skill in setting priorities and meeting deadlines.
Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
Ability to lift, stand or walk for prolonged periods of time.
Ability to frequently work overtime and irregular hours.
Possession of a valid Colorado driver's license.
Motor Vehicle Record that meets UCAR’s acceptability requirements
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred
