Shuttle DriverThis is a casual (as needed/no benefits) position. This position will beposted until 4 pm on July 27, 2018 or until a sufficient number ofapplications have been received. UCAR/NCAR willnot sponsor a work visa (e.g., J-1, H1-B, etc.) for this position.Where You Will WorkLocated in Boulder, Colorado, University Corporation for AtmosphericResearch (UCAR) serves and participates in a collaborative community ofresearchers and educators who are dedicated to understanding the atmosphere --the air around us -- and the complex processes that make up the Earthsystem, from the ocean floor to the Sun's core. We manage the NationalCenter for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) on behalf of the National ScienceFoundation and the university community.What You Will DoDrives and maintains passenger shuttle vans as part of UCAR TransportationServices program or as required by the Transportation Manager.Responsibilities include:Safely drives passenger shuttle vans as directed by Transportation Manager.Adheres to published shuttle schedules and routes.Delivers mail and packages between UCAR sites as directed.Maintains vehicles: Ensures that vehicles are safe, clean, and refueled.Reports discrepancies, maintenance issues, and safety matters to theTransportation Manager.Records passenger counts and ensures shuttle is used by UCAR/NCAR employeesor official visitors only.Acts as Transportation Representative for UCAR/NCAR Staff. Disseminatesinformation and assists employees and official visitors in using the shuttleand other UCAR transportation programs.Assists with GSA fleet maintenance program.What You NeedHigh School diploma or equivalent.Possession of a valid Colorado driver's license.Motor Vehicle Record that meets UCAR's acceptability requirements fordriving on UCAR business under UCAR policy 4-5.Position is subject to pre-employment and mandatory drug and alcohol testingas required by UCAR policy 2-9.Physical ability to lift 30 lbs. and drive for prolonged periods.Demonstrate a high degree of consistency and reliability in performingassigned tasks.Possess excellent customer service skills.Skill at properly completing and maintaining records.Skill at performing required assignments with minimal supervision with a veryhigh degree of accuracy and professional demeanor.Ability to read and comprehend required forms and regulations.Ability to adhere to scheduled times and routes.Ability to follow standard operating procedures.Ability to quickly adapt to changing tasks and work assignments.The University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) is an equalopportunity/equal access/affirmative action employer that strives todevelop and maintain a diverse workforce.
