Position SummaryThis position performs preventive maintenance, performs diagnostics andmakes repairs on heavy construction equipment and on-highway trucks in thesafest, most effective way possible to avoid downtime.This is a second shift position (Starts between 3:00 PM and 3:30 PM)ResponsibilitiesEnsures a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies andprocedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the taskPerforms diagnostic tasks in order to properly source parts and accuratelyrepair heavy equipment and vehicles, including but not limited to dieseltrucks, trailers, ready mix trucks, rollers, pavers, loaders,backhoes, skid steers, etc.Cleans, lubricates, and performs preventative maintenance work onequipment and vehiclesDismantles and reassembles heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools, asneededOperates and inspects machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defectsOverhauls and tests machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiencyExamines parts for damage or excessive wear, repairing and replacing damagedor worn partsTroubleshoots and rewires electrical systemsTests mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensureproper performance and compliance with manufacturer's specificationsResearches, orders, and maintains the inventory of parts for service andrepairsCompletes all paperwork as necessary, including but not limited to workorders, parts requests, time cards, logs, pre-trip/post-trip inspections, etc.May make service calls and roadside repairs as neededPerform other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesMust be safety-oriented and exhibit safe work habitsGeneral knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuringtools and instruments, laptop computers and diagnostic softwareGeneral knowledge of heavy equipment operations, systems and components(engines, electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic), repairmethods and common issueStrong computer diagnostic skillsMust be able to obtain or currently possess adequate tools to perform allassigned dutiesPerform well in a "TEAM" environmentAbility to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistencyFlexibility to work various schedules including shift work, requiredovertime and weekendsCommunicate effectively, both written and verbally (English)Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screenMinimum Education and ExperienceMust have valid CDL Class B minimum, Class A preferred (or ability obtainCDL within 60 days)Minimum 5 years of heavy equipment/on-highway truck maintenance experienceor related field that showcases skills with mechanical, hydraulic, andelectrical systemsHigh School Diploma or equivalent required. Trade school or equivalenttraining desired.Pay$24.84+ depending on experience
