Position DescriptionThe Scheduling Representative is responsible for responding to customerquestions, analyzing and resolving issues regarding natural gastransportation scheduling, and performing daily processing activities.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesIn this position, either directly or through others, the incumbent:Responds to customer inquiries/complaints via phone in a timely, accurateand complete manner on a continuous basis throughout the day working in acollaborative manner and with a sense of urgency through completion.Processes nominations and confirmations following federally mandated deadlines7 times per day as required under FERC and tariff guidelines.Monitors imbalances on the pipeline, contacts departments within KinderMorgan for resolution, coordinates the collection of information,recommends solutions to management and represents the Company in response tothe customer.Monitors proprietary natural gas scheduling computer system and near real-timedata system using SCADA data updated every 4 minutes, both of whichextensively use Windows environments where several windows are open andrunning simultaneously.Manages imbalances with customers while delivering a high level of customerservice in a non-discriminatory manner.Mitigates impacts of planned and unplanned facility outages.Other duties may be assigned.Position RequirementsMinimum Knowledge and Education Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent.Familiarity with computer systems.Preferred Knowledge and Education Requirements:Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experiencewith a natural gas transmission system.Previous experience in a customer service position where complex concepts areconveyed over the phone within a limited time-frame.Knowledge and experience in using proprietary computer systems.Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook andExcel.Job level commensurate with experience and skill sets.Required Skills and Abilities:Highly developed interpersonal, verbal and written communications skillsappropriate in a dynamic open team office environmentMinimum of 3 years of experience or knowledge in a related technical field.Ability to positively interface with customers personally via telephone in ahighly efficient, knowledgeable and professional manner.Ability to work in a team environment as well as work autonomously withlimited direct supervision.Ability to balance competing priorities; work within tight and changingdeadlines and scope with a high degree of personal initiative.Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize work-load in a fast-paced andfrequently changing environment.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Solid analytical, conceptualization and problem solving skills.Strong computer skills including ability to use Microsoft software productsand aptitude to learn proprietary natural gas scheduling systems and otherapplications quickly.Working Conditions:Requires flexibility in working hours in a combination of 8, 10, 12,13, or 14 hour days, across 3, 4 or 5 days either during the week,nights, weekends, or holidays. The work schedule will change periodicallyas training progresses and customer requirements change. Overtime may berequired with no notice.Continual phone conversations throughout the day with customers, otherschedulers, pipeline controllers, supervisors, field personnel, andinterconnect operators.Must be able to handle stressful situations and effectively manage operationsoccurring simultaneously on different pipelines.Must be able to work effectively and efficiently in an open space environmentshared by other team members as well as working remotely (at home, forexample).The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and acomprehensive background check, after an offer has been extended and priorto being employed.Pay range: $60,600 - $84,800 per year.
