Job Summary

Cosmic AES is looking for an Operations Planner (STTR-Space Test and Training Range) in the event we are awarded future work. The STTR ensures safe and secure operations and provides its customers with realistic space environment to support test, training, and exercise activities. The STTR provides support from its Schriever operations center as well as deployed CONUS and OCONUS locations. The STTR operates in planning teams comprised of active duty military, reservists, government civilians, and contractors that work with STTR customers to plan test, training, or exercise events. The job also includes being on crew for event execution. Travel will be required for days to attend planning conferences and meetings of one to three weeks to support event execution. Also requires the ability to occasionally work non-standard and/or extended shifts.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead for planning team working with engineers and ops support technician and STTR customer to define event details. Preparing Range Control Plans and conducting event readiness reviews and post event hot wash meetings.

  • Planning STTR support for test, training, and exercise events

  • Integrating planning efforts across the Nevada Test and Training Range and cyber ranges

  • Providing operational support to the STTR as a crew member in the positions of range director and range-control officer

  • Coordinating activities conducted on the STTR using the universal documentation system

  • Identifying, documenting, and forwarding range requirements using the appropriate range acquisition process to each range authority

  • Support the STTR scheduling meetings and Users Conference

  • Support training of new range personnel

  • Participate in acquisition process on new STTR system to provide operational perspective. Activities include requirements input/review, design review, test, training, and system documentation.

Qualifications and Skills

  • US Citizens only

  • Current Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility

  • Bachelor?s degree

  • Minimum 8 years of experience

  • 4+ years? experience in satellite communications, operations, or related field.

  • Logistics support in inventory and management of STTR assets.

  • Ability to react quickly in a dynamic environment.

  • Collaborate working in team environment of active duty military, reservists, government civilians, and contractors

  • Ability to communicate technical approaches and details within small project teams, including team interaction and presentation

  • A working knowledge of Microsoft® Office software tools.
