Rocky Mountain Excavating, Inc Heavy Equipment Shop Mechanic in Denver, Colorado

POSITION SUMMARY:Diagnose, adjust and repair heavy machinery and vehicles, such assemi-tractors, loaders, excavators and other heavy equipment in the shop.Reasonable Accommodations StatementTo accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able toperform, with or without reasonable accommodation, each essential functionsatisfactorily. Reassemble machines and equipment following repair, testing operationand making adjustments as necessary. Maintain, and repair, heavy machinery and vehicles, such asexcavators, semi-tractors, loaders, scrapers, and machine components. Inspect and listen to equipment, read inspection reports, and conferwith operators to locate and diagnose malfunctions. Dismantle defective machines for repair, using personal hand tools. Test and diagnose electrical components and wiring. Repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools, weldingequipment, grinders, or saws. Clean and lubricate parts. Tune or overhaul engines. Must have tools and equipment for in shop repair of large machinery. Use an android phone and or laptop to make a record of repairs made,labor time, and parts used. Diagnose, repair or replace hydraulic systems and or components. REQUIREMENTS:High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)5 plus years of experience in heavy equipment repair, Associate's Degree(two year college or technical school) or Work Equivalent, Field ofStudy: Diesel MechanicsAbility to pass a background investigation and drug screening ( required foraccess onto military and high security areas)Current (within three years of hire date) Federal OSHA 10-hourConstruction Certificate (or completion of the course prior within 60 daysof employment)Must be familiar with Microsoft office, scheduling software and standardfunctions of transferring, saving and imputing of data on a computer. Mustbe able to operate an android smart phone or tabletClean driving record and the ability to pass a background investigation, anddrug screening. Other Physical Requirements Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - Hard hat, eye andear protection, safety vest, gloves, dust mask, and steel toe boots.
