ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Ensure timely reporting of train crew activities in TMS (RMI), includinginterchanges, train arrival, and departuresProvide daily work orders to field crewsWork closely with Class 1s, short line, and switch roads to ensure timelyand accurate delivery of customer cars (billing, diversion, etc.)Act as the liaison between field and rail customer regarding changes inscheduled servicesAssist customers with billing and traffic specific inquiriesCommunicate specific rail customer requests to local operations staffEnsure HAZMAT railcars are billed properly and are in compliance with currentDOT regulationsEscalate issues beyond the scope of expertise to Customer Service Center shiftsupervisorHandle incoming emergency calls and respond with appropriate actionNotify rail customers of incidents, business impacts and resolutionsProcess customer requests including BOLs, releases, and switch requestsProfessionally interact with railroad operations/customer service teams onlocal service issuesTrace railcars on and off OmniTRAX roads for customersOther duties as assignedREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:High School Diploma or GED2+ years of applicable customer service experience where the success of theposition relied on accurately receiving, inputting, interpreting andutilizing data to make sound decisions in a fast paced environmentAbility to work any 8 hour shift as this is a 20/7 center, hours ofoperation are 0200-2200High attention to detail and strong organizational skillsDemonstrated ability to manage many incoming demands in a short period oftime, and organize/ prioritize them in a way that the output business flowis smooth and customer expectations metStrong problem solving and solution creation skills as this is an unscriptedenvironmentStrong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteStrong written and verbal communication skillsOther duties as assignedPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Bachelor's Degree preferredWorking knowledge of AS400 preferred; will consider comparable toolWorking knowledge of NetSuite software (Microsoft CRM preferred)
