DescriptionJob SummaryResponsible to fabricate, assemble, install and terminate avionics andmedical systems wiring harnesses for aircraft completions. Perform continuityand power and ground checks for post installation wiring accuracy. Performconfigurations and calibration of avionics and medical equipment. Perform postinstallation system operational checks.Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following: Fabricate, assemble, repair, install, modify, test, operate,and troubleshoot aircraft installed avionics and electrical systems, modulesan Mark wires. Assemble, lays-up, terminate (crimp and solder) andtest wire harnesses to engineering schematic specifications Fabricate avionics, electrical, and medical wiring systems toengineering schematic specifications Check drawings, job cards and parts kits for accuracy and applicabilityfor assigned tasks and advises lead and/or supervisor of deficiencies Perform electrical continuity checks, operational tests, andacceptance test procedures per engineering and manufacturer's instructionson installed avionics and electrical systems, modules and components Troubleshoot, repair, and modify aircraft electrical, avionics,and medical systems per manufacturer's instructions, engineeringschematics and accepted industry practices Perform FAA and repair station administration - Documents maintenance andinstallation activities changes in work orders, FAA Form 337's, aircraftweight and balance sheets, equipment lists, log books, etc. Record work progress, certifications, completion and testing onvarious production documents per ISO standards and established company Perform activities related to fabricating, assembly, repair,modification, testing, operating and troubleshooting ofavionics/electrical modules, components, and wire harnesses Perform activities related to assist in avionics, electrical and medicalsystems design activities Assist with planning of installations, repairs, and modifications Assist with planning and documenting in-flight testing, certification,and troubleshooting procedures Maintain aircraft, work area, and hangar cleanliness Other Duties as assigned.Additional Job Requirements Regular scheduled attendance Indicate the percentage of time spent traveling: 1%Subject to applicable laws and Air Method's policies, regular attendanceis an essential function of the position. All employees must follow AirMethods' employment practices and policies.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below arerepresentative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Inaccordance with applicable laws, Air Methods will provide reasonableaccommodations that do not create an undue burden so disabled employees mayperform the essential functions of the position.Education and Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three tofive years' related experience and/or training; or equivalentcombination of education and experience. Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college ortechnical school preferred. Five years of avionics experience or four years military avionicsexperience, to include routing of wiring harness and terminate wiring andcoaxial cable. Applicant must meet the requirements of FAR 65.101 except for therecommendation by the employer. Formal Electronics/Avionics Training. Formal soldering training or demonstrates acceptable performance. Basic understanding of FAA certification processes.Skills Ability to multi-task efficiently, works in a fast paced environment onmultiple projects, and has a strong attention for detail Ability to manage several projects concurrently Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of collaboration at all levels Ability to be a team player with a professional attitudeComputer Skills Profi
