Job Summary

Responsible for analytics and reporting for the Contracting function of Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) Supply Chain. Handles a diverse set of responsibilities focused on contracts, spend and savings. Works with large volume, non-standard data from multiple sources including HealthTrust, CHI market-based organizations, suppliers and distributors. Designs, develops and manages databases, database applications, interfaces and reports for internal and external customers. Sr. Data Analysts are needed in the following categories: Cardiovascular, Ortho, General Medicine, Surgical Preference or Spine.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to a variety of ad hoc requests for information from CHI Supply Chain, HealthTrust Contracting, HealthTrust Audit, CHI Contracting and Regional Contract Managers, leveraging a variety of data sources (Lawson Supply Chain, CHI procurement data repository, vendor provided data and in-house applications such as CatScan, CCM, Scrubs and Spend Analytics).

  • Apply technology to increase the productivity of the CHI Contracting team within the assigned category.

  • Develop and maintain the HealthTrust contract price interface with CHI’s Lawson ERP system. Maintain the linkage between the HealthTrust contract catalog and the CHI Item Master for items within the assigned category.

  • Manage the quarterly CHI rebate and patronage distributions, including audit controls, fund transfer files, reporting and communication. Rebates exceed $11 million annually. Patronage dividends exceed $12 million annually.

  • Support CHI contracting initiatives by analyzing vendor proposals, market share data and supply/equipment/service costs and validating and maintaining contract price files.

  • Support the category contracting decisions by analyzing potential savings initiatives based on linear modeling.

  • Design and deliver market share, contract savings and contract implementation reports used to manage and grow the CHI contract spend with HealthTrust Purchasing Group (approximately $2 billion annually).

  • Provide financial reporting to CHI Supply Chain leadership focused on GPO participation and rebates.

  • Manage the Stewardship report process which includes documenting the savings for centrally recorded initiatives.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree is required

Experience

  • 5 to 7 years of experience with complex data analysis projects in an information systems, database design or data management role.Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to perform multiple, complex functions for which timeliness and accuracy is critical.

  • Strong knowledge of database concepts and proficiency in query development is required. SQL Server application development experience is a plus.

  • Demonstrated success using data from disparate sources to perform analytics in support of a variety of business initiatives. Able to cleanse, match, organize and audit data as needed.

  • Expert level skill in the use of Microsoft Excel and Access

  • Understands financial decision making and is able to calculate discounts, percentages, ratios, fractions and apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a cross functional, geographically diverse team.

  • Acts in an independent manner with minimal supervision, while maintaining high quality standards

  • Able to manage multiple projects and priorities.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
