We remove solid waste from campus according to the <span class="caps">ISW</span> plan which maximizes the reuse of campus waste through recycling and composting with landfilling as a last resort.</p>

Position Summary

The Recycle Truck Driver exists to efficiently and effectively collect and deliver recyclable and waste materials. The regular work schedule for this position is 6:00 AM through 2:30 PM, Tuesday through Saturday. Overtime is occasionally required.

Please note: This positions requires a current and valid driver’s license. Essential Job Duties

Job Duty Category Trash & Recyclable Materials Collection
Duty/Responsibility
  • Collect recyclable materials throughout the campus and deliver to recycle center.
  • Collect bagged trash throughout campus and deliver to the compactor.
  • Operate and perform operator maintenance and daily pre-trip safety inspections; vehicles include – 11,050 lb. GVW cube van, and 11,000 lb. GVW light duty flatbed truck.

  • Maintain Compactor area and event bins as needed.
  • Clean lids, around compactor, and make arrangements for the bins to be thoroughly washed during school breaks and when needed due to odor and appearance.

  • Maintain recycling at storage area.
  • Load trucks when necessary for shipping.
  • Inspect recycling universal hazardous waste site, and verify compliance.
