Monitor and evaluate vendors to ensure wastesare being disposed of properly and efficiently.Responsible for utilizing Mesa County's financial system to billcustomers, enter payments, and process expenses.Monitors HWCF revenues and expenditures, and advises the Solid WasteDirector of any budget issues.Prepares reports pertaining to the HWCF for the BoCC, the County FinanceDepartment, and other departments as needed.Verify timesheets for HWCF employees.Drives program development through researching hazardous waste managementtechnology/innovations, calculating logistics, coordinating pilotprograms, and presenting findings to the Landfill Director, the PublicWorks Director, and the BoCC.Reviews and interprets federal, state, and local regulations to ensurecompliance with all ordinances, regulations, and laws as they relate tohazardous and electronic waste, and medical waste management.Ensures all facility staff is properly trained and that staff is utilizingoperating procedures recommended by OSHA. Ensure staff training meetsapplicable regulations.Ensures the Hazardous Waste Collection Facility is fully staffed duringregular business hours, and during special events.Provides supervision, training, and work evaluations for assigned staff;establishes work priorities; instructs and trains in established methods andprocedures; reviews and evaluates employee performance, and counselsemployees.Completes internal monthly reporting. Updates/manages excel spreadsheetstracking HWC Facility participation, materials reuse, VSQG programs,waste disposal volumes and expenses and other hazardous waste items that enterthe facilityAct as the subject matter expert when responding to citizen and VSQG inquiriesregarding proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials in Mesa County.Perform site visits to area VSQG facilities handling and/or generatinghazardous materials, and provide recommendations if the waste can beaccepted at the HWCF for disposal.Manage, schedule and train staff to assist VSQG waste disposal requests andappointments.
