JBS USA TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT SUPERVISOR in Greeley, Colorado

Safety and retention are keys to our success. The Safety Training and Development Supervisor provides leadership, safety training, coaching and counseling to the drivers of JBS Carriers. This is achieved by following, promoting, and providing training on the established safety programs. Our goal is to attract, train and maintain the safest fleet in transportation with the goal of continually improving safety and retention. Duties include all aspects of driver safety training, coaching, counseling, hands-on training, and any other safety and retention task assigned.

  • Provides DOT safety training to new drivers in orientation hired by the company.

  • Coordinate the new driver training program. Qualify mentor trainer drivers, place new trainees with qualified mentors, and track progress thru program completion.

  • Reviews new driver applicants to qualify them against JBS Carriers minimum eligibility requirements (e.g., reviewing MVR,PSP,DAC, criminal background reports,).

  • Performs driver safety performance reviews to include: positive recognition, coaching, counseling and discipline per company policies.

  • Investigates incidents, accidents, and work-related injuries including accident investigation, accident reports, and accident files. Perform accident reviews with drivers.

  • Provides subject matter expertise regarding DOT, FMCSA regulation questions to drivers and operation staff.

  • Track driver safety training records utilizing system tools.

  • Work closely with the driver managers and terminal management to ensure that safety policies and procedures are being appropriately followed.

  • Utilize in cab video based safety data to identify risk behaviors to be coached.

  • Work with Director of Safety to prioritize safety risk priorities by fleet to maintain a focus on crash and injury prevention.

  • Assist, plan and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including FMCSA and Department of Transportation (DOT)

Experience & Skills Required:

  • 2 to 3 years of transportation safety related experience

  • Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and state regulations regarding transportation safety

  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time effectively

  • Good verbal, written and relational communication skills, with ability to appropriately interact with employees of all levels including drivers, customers, senior management, client representatives, and general public

  • Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality

  • Possess working vehicle to travel with in service area as needed
