The Lift Dispatcher provides clear and concise communications regarding ski lift status to Lift Maintenance personnel, Lift Operations personnel, Ski Patrol, and other departments and managers as needed throughout the operating hours of the ski hill. The Dispatcher will perform lift dispatch functions and maintain records required by Keystone Lift Maintenance and other regulatory agencies and Vail Resorts, Inc. to include procedures and operating logs. Responsible for dispatching technicians in routine and emergency lift situations. This position is the communication center for the Lift Maintenance Department utilizing telephone, radio, and email.
Job Duties include, but are not limited to:
Update mountain information signs and status boards.
Input unscheduled maintenance work order information into computer spreadsheet.
Supply status and progress reports to department operating groups as required.
Responsibilities for the summer include helping mechanics with routine maintenance and special projects, as well as special projects requested by management.
Works as direct mountain operations and front-line staff during resort opening and closing.
Handle routine maintenance and emergency situations.
High school diploma or equivalent - required.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Ability to multitask in a sometimes stressful situation.
Previous radio experience - preferred.
Experience in Lift Operations and/or Lift Maintenance or Ski Patrol - preferred.
Valid driver’s license - preferred.
Knowledge of Keystone Mountain - preferred.
Able to work outside at heights and in inclement weather - required.
