Applies athorough understanding of the technical concepts, practices and proceduresand a general knowledge of industry standards and government regulationsrelated to test and transport bulk petroleum products to pipeline injectionpoints. Responsibilities and functions described are all inclusive with noreal separation.Plans and accomplishes operational assignments and tasks related to gauge tankvolumes and testing of product quality specifications of bulk petroleumproducts transported from remote locations to pipeline injection points usinga Class A tractor and a tanker trailer.Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local law andregulations and company policies and procedures by operating all vehicles andequipment in a safe and efficient manner to maintain the ongoing transport ofpetroleum products.Must be ability to perform pre-and post-trip inspections on equipment used forthe transportation of hazardous materials. Knowledge of all Federal MotorCarriers Safety Regulations.Maintain the operational efficiency of vehicles by monitoring truckmaintenance needs, conducting minor repairs and conducting daily DOT truckinspections to ensure maximum vehicle safety.Must be able to report on time to required dispatched specified schedule, tomeet time and delivery all pickup and delivery requirements to contribute tooperations effective.Maintain and complete accurate daily logs, reports, and records, asdocumenting truck inspections, hours of service, product transported,miles driven, and any other paperwork required by the company.Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operatingand maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to effectivelycommunicate with internal and external customers of the company.Ability to demonstrate and understand instructions furnished in writtenand/or, oral form, and ability to deal with problems involving severalvariables in standardized situations in daily operationsMust be able to perform mathematical calculations required for the positionand learn to interpret and comprehend company policies, procedures, safetyinstructions, and other like documents used in an energy industry environment.Must be able to read, write and speak the English language sufficiently toconverse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs andsignals in the English language, to respond to official inquires, and tomake entries on reports and records.Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments injob classifications other than the primary assignment.RequirementsHigh school diploma or G.E.D. and two (2) or more years of crude haulingexperience and two (2) or more years and/or 100,000 miles drivingexperiencein operating a Class A tractor or tanker trailer.A combination of education, experience and training may be substituted forthe post High School requirements.Knowledge of Department of Transportation safety rules and regulationsrequired to transport hazardous materials. Valid CDL license with allnecessary endorsements to operate a Class A tractor and tanker trailer whilehauling hazardous materials and be insurable under the Company's policybased on Driver MVR Criteria.Competent in the use of standard computer software applications and operatestandard office equipment.Establish and maintain effective customer relations by meeting or exceedingcustomer requirements to contribute to a positive public relations image.Ability to make telephone and direct personal contact with internal andexternal personnel.Must be able to complete Safety Training requirements applicable to the joband the general work area.Additional Requirements: Works under general supervision.
