Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures that JIT (Just-In-Time) is happening just the right amount of materials and supplies at the right time in the right place.

  • Responsible for the movement of shop orders and material as it flows from clean room, machine shop, inspection, shipment to outside vendors, and from MRB (Material Review Board) hold back into production

  • Assist in 5S, continuous improvement and 'Lean Activites' proactively and as assigned.

  • Keeps the flow smooth by solving complex problems and handling irregular projects that don’t fit into current process

  • Change existing and implement new processes

  • Takes direction from value stream manager, machine shop supervisor, and clean room supervisor to sequence work to smooth the flow.

  • Creates clear instructions for other departments when work is moved back into the normal process after having fallen out. i.e. repaired parts coming back from the machine shop to clean room.

  • Issues or distributes materials, products, parts, and supplies to appropriate Maintains a safe, organized and efficient work area.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Problem solving non-technical process problems.

  • Ability to learn and proficiently use an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system.

  • Understand basic manufacturing process and how inventory control interacts with upstream and downstream functions.

  • Able to work with multiple priorities and people.

  • Strong attention to detail, organization and time management skills.

  • Ability to professionally communicate and work with others.

  • Service orientation; actively looking for ways to help people.

  • Communication skills; the ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally with all levels of supervision on the status of jobs.

  • Attendance and punctuality the ideal candidate is consistently at work and on-time; ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent.

  • Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.

  • Balances team and individual responsibilities

  • Exhibits objectivity and openness to others’ views; gives and welcomes feedback

  • Contributes to building a positive team spirit.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficient personal computer skills, internet research, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word). ERP experience desired.

Required Experience, Skills and Education

  • US Person (US Citizen or Permanent Resident)

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 10+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
