Receiving Clerk

Description

The Receiving Clerk will be responsible for: receiving, inspecting and recording shipments containing raw material and/or products. Additional responsibilities include unloading packages and checking their contents to ensure they match the order and meet our raw material product specifications.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Process inbound deliveries

  • Data entry into ERP system

  • Prepare Pallets for outbound shipments

  • Drive forklift

  • Inventory control and cycle counts

  • Process stock orders for outbound shipments

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with procurement staff on expected deliveries & cycle counts

  • Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt

  • Unload packages from incoming trucks

  • Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged

  • Verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price, etc.)

  • Assume responsibility for notifying Supply Chain Manager of unsatisfactory product(s) or receiving replacements

  • Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place

  • Ensure invoices are signed

  • Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control

  • Prepare pallets for outbound international shipments

Mental Functions:

  • Ability to perform basic math function (add, subtract, multiply and divide) on various units of measures.

  • Ability to apply basic math functions to whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

  • Apply data and situational analysis to make sound judgment on operational procedures.

  • Ability to make appropriate decisions in regards to problem-solving, machine set up and product quality.

Physical Functions:

  • Ability to frequently lift and maneuver 25lbs to 65lbs daily.

  • Ability to see details at a close range.

  • Requires high manual dexterity and fine motor skills in both hands.

?Equipment Used:

Employees frequently use forklifts, pallet jacks, and shipping supplies.

Work Conditions:

The environment is typical of many indoor manufacturing facilities. The noise generated within the facility is moderate and poses no risk to employee health. Employees frequently work on or around moving and heated equipment. Employees work 8-hour shifts and must be available to work all 3 shifts as needed.

Required Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED. Minimum of 1- 2 years? experience as receiving clerk or similar position. Working knowledge of computer programs (MS Office, SAGE, Outlook, etc.)
