Substitute School Bus Route/Activity Driver
Meeker School District Re-1 is seeking individuals to become a substitute school bus route and activity driver. While it is preferred that applicants hold a current CDL Class B P2S license, the district will train approved applicants in obtaining this license.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Meeker School District Employment Requirements:
Possess or have the ability to obtain a valid operator’s license (endorsement CDL Class B-P2S)Be a minimum of 21 years of agePass a background checkPass a pre-employment drug/alcohol test and submit to a random testing program.Driving record must meet insurance provider’s and School District requirementsPre-service training for appropriate vehicle and dutiesDrive activity trips and substitute on bus routes as needed
Annual Requirements:
Pass CDE annual basic knowledge written testDOT Physical every other yearSubmit to random drug/alcohol testingPractical performance evaluation
REQUIREMENTS FOR OBTAINING A CDL CLASS B-P2S LICENSE:
State Requirements:
Pass CDL Basic knowledge written testPass CDL passenger endorsement written testObtain driving permit
School District Transportation Requirements:
Pass CDE annual basic knowledge written test
3rd Party Tester:
Pass CEL Practical vehicle pre-trip inspection testPass CDL practical driving skills course testPass practical road course testObtain a DOT Physical CertificateObtain or hold a current First Aid Certificate
POSITION BENEFITS:
Salary is based on years of driving experience with a Class B- P2S endorsement.Colorado Public Employee Retirement Association (PERA) MemberPaid Summer’s offAnnual license requirements paid for by the district, such as drug tests, physicals, testing fees and any other licensing fees associated with your CDL Class B P2S license.Paid CPR/First Aid training (class and certificate fees only)
