Responsible for hiring,training and supervision of all drivers and dispatchers. Responsible formeeting departmental budget goals.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Supervises the transportation departmental staff. Responsible fordepartmental hiring, orientation, competency, and training procedures.2. Functions as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT). Maintainsregular attendance at, and participants in Interdisciplinary Teammeetings; communicates participant changes, collaborates on plan of caredecisions and coordination for twenty-four (24) hour care delivery.3. Communicates Interdisciplinary Team decisions, participant changes,plan of care changes, and updated information to transportation staff on adaily basis.4. Ensures responsibility for running and maintaining transportationscheduling software program.5. Ensures effective daily communications, via radio calls or otherwise,between PACE Center, transportation drivers and dispatch including driverdaily work schedules and participant appointments.6. Monitors use of Driver/Dispatch overtime, ensures adequate staffing andimproves efficiency.7. Oversees vehicle maintenance program and obtains estimates and authorizesvehicle repairs per departmental policies.8. Ensures that vehicles have up-to-date Department of Motor Vehicleregistration forms, license plates and emission stickers.9. Ensures cleanliness, proper and functioning equipment as well as of safedriving conditions of each vehicle.10. Ensures that all departmental staff attends and successfully executesrequired annual driver training courses and participates in mandatoryin-service training.11. Sets clear expectations and assigns appropriate authority to staff;holds staff accountable for their scope of work and compliance to companypolicies and procedures.12. Follows all Senior CommUnity Care policies and procedures and OccupationalSafety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety guidelines.13. Maintains the confidentiality of all company procedures, results, andinformation about participants, clients or families.14. Handles potentially infectious specimens with appropriate biohazardprecautions, and practices Universal Precautions.15. Participates in and supports Quality Improvement Initiatives.16. Participates in continuing education classes and any required staff andtraining meetings. Maintains professional affiliations and any requiredcertifications.17.
