Wagner Equipment Co., the Caterpillar dealer for Colorado, New Mexico andfar west Texas, is seeking applications for a Field Service Welder.The Field Service Welder works with no direct supervision and is responsiblefor making sound structural repairs with all welds neat in appearance orground off flush. Work will be performed at the shop or customers site.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIESAdministrative:Maintains truck and crane inspection logs on a daily basisCompletes CAT service reports daily that are legible, have proper grammarand sentence structure,and appropriate SIMS codeTransmits photos, timecards, service reports, and other informationthrough e-mailMaintains good customer records on jobs that have been assignedMaintains credit card receipts for accounting purposesOrganizational:Works with the Service Department, Product Support Representatives, andSales Department to meetall of the customer's needsInterpersonal:Communicates with customers on the diagnosis and status of repairs, parts,and other concernsTeaches and coaches other technicians in the fieldSales:Promotes Wagner Equipment Co. to customersTechnical:Accurately troubleshoots and repairs CAT equipment the first timeReads, understands, and applies electrical and hydraulic schematics torepair workSafely rigs or hooks components for liftingRemoves, repairs, and installs major components in varying configurationsof equipmentMaintains tooling in good working order as per MSHA and OSHA regulationsMakes determinations in the field on warranty repair and guidelines,communicating decisions tocustomer and dispatcherMaintains service vehicle in safe and good repairESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTSMinimum Education Required: High School Diploma or GED and Relevant CATaccredited coursesMinimum Experience Required: Five + years' experience servicing heavyequipmentAdministrative / Clerical Experience - Basic LevelCustomer Service Experience - Intermediate LevelSales Experience - Intermediate LevelTechnical/Mechanical Experience - Advanced LevelCertificates, Licenses and Registrations Required: Weldingcertification, and must be able to obtainthe DOT Health Card, Class D Driver's License and MSHA licenseRequired Skills and Competencies:Data EntryOrganizational SkillsTelephone SkillsCommunication SkillsSafety KnowledgeMath SkillsReading / Writing SkillsProduct KnowledgeReasoning SkillsOther:Ability to work independently with little or no directionWell-rounded knowledge of CAT equipmentComputer Skills:Microsoft Word - Basic LevelMicrosot Outlook - Basic LevelDBS - Intermediate LevelET/SIS/SIS Web/STW - Intermediate LevelOther relevant information:Other duties as assigned by ManagerWagner offers great benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance,401K, tuition reimbursement and more.
